Pezeshkian’s Defense of the Cabinet: All Ministers Coordinated with the Leader
In his final remarks before the vote of confidence in parliament, Masoud Pezeshkian told the representatives not to force him to say things he shouldn’t say, but he emphasized that they have come here with coordination.
These remarks were met with applause from the representatives. Mr. Pezeshkian said that Abbas Araqchi and Farzaneh Sadegh have been approved by the leader of the Islamic Republic, and Abbas Salehi Amiri did not want to accept the Ministry of Culture but agreed after a call from the Leader.
Masoud Pezeshkian asked the representatives to put aside past differences.
According to Mr. Pezeshkian, Farzaneh Sadegh and Abbas Saleh Shariati, the nominees for the Ministry of Culture, were personally requested by Ayatollah Khamenei to come forward.
He said, ‘I don’t want to say you forced me to say it, but all the ministers have been coordinated.’
In his remarks to the opposing representatives, Mr. Pezeshkian said that Mr. Araqchi was the first person Ayatollah Khamenei approved.
He urged them to vote for the candidates so that the government could be formed sooner.
