Possibility of German Judiciary Involvement in Case of Iranian National Team Player

Possible Involvement of the German Judicial System in the Case of the Iranian National Team’s Striker

The case of Sardar Azmoun, the striker of Iran’s national football team in Russia, might be pursued by the German judiciary.

Andrey Dmitriev, the lawyer of the complainant against Sardar Azmoun, the Iranian football player of Bayer Leverkusen, mentioned in a recent interview about efforts to involve the German judiciary in this case. Dmitriev said there is a possibility of adding an option to the case that allows all countries that have accepted the Hague Convention, including Germany, to review the case. Meanwhile, this lawyer also expressed his readiness to communicate with the German judiciary. He said, ‘Germany is a civilized country that respects laws. We are confident in the positive outcome of the case.’ Sardar Azmoun, who has previously played for Rubin Kazan, Rostov, and Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia, has been involved in a legal case for the past few months, which is still ongoing.
