Prevention of students from entering the university due to their attire
Yesterday, on April 9th, the security of the University of Art prevented many male and female students from entering the Bagh-e-Melli campus and even allowed themselves to give expert opinions on the type of pants worn by female students.
Additionally, a veiled woman took on the task of buttoning the coats of female students and covering their heads with scarves.
Students, while protesting against this despicable, offensive, and intolerable practice that specifically targets their right to education, demanded the presence of Mohammadreza Hassani and his accountability. They were met with a strange response from the security: ‘This issue is not related to the university, it concerns the security.’
It is worth mentioning that during the students’ protest against this issue, one of the students was banned from entering, based on the personal decision of the head of security, without following the legal process.
All of this is happening while in a meeting between Mohammadreza Hassani and the president of the University of Art in Belgrade, Mirjana Nikolic, the mandatory hijab requirements were not mentioned to her, in order to portray a false image of the University of Art’s environment.
