Prison Sentence Awaiting Former Persepolis Forward
The former forward of Persepolis football team might be sentenced to seven years in prison for a recent action he took.
Anthony Stokes, the former forward of the Ireland national football team who also has a history of playing for Persepolis, was arrested last Friday for driving offenses. In Stokes’ car, a quantity of white powder suspected to be cocaine, valued at over 4,500 euros, was also found.
While the initial charge against Stokes is driving without a license and insurance, after the discovery of drugs, he is now facing more serious charges.
According to the Sunday World publication, the sentence for dangerous driving can be up to 6 months in prison, while the sentence for possession of drugs, which could be up to 7 years in prison if the substance is confirmed to be cocaine.
