A new report by two Russian media outlets named Protocol and Erzwert reveals details about the preparations for producing the Shahed model drones on Tatarstan soil in western Russia.

These two media outlets, in a joint investigation, reported that a complex with an area of 40,000 square meters in Alabuga has been dedicated to producing Shahed drones and will expand to 100,000 square meters after completion.

According to a source whose identity has not been disclosed, letters signed by the Russian Defense Minister have been seen by this source, which initialed the necessary financial resources for purchasing drone technology from Iran. According to this source, this letter was subsequently sent to Vladimir Putin’s office for signature.

While the Islamic Republic government continues to deny military support to Russia, it is estimated that over the past three months, Shahed model drones have constituted about 60% of the weaponry used by Russian forces in airstrikes against Ukraine.
