Protests in Belgrade against the peace plan with Kosovo

Aleksandar Vučić, the President of Serbia, and Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, will meet with Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, to continue negotiations on establishing peace between Serbia and Kosovo on Saturday, March 18 (27th of Esfand) in North Macedonia.

In protest against this meeting, thousands of Serbian citizens held widespread demonstrations in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on the evening of Friday, March 17.

Protesters gathered in front of the St. Sava Cathedral in Belgrade, chanting slogans of betrayal and ‘no to surrender,’ and moved from there towards the country’s presidential palace.

The demonstrators also expressed their praise and support for Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.
