Putin called for the creation of a new platform for global growth within BRICS
Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, at the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi, called for strengthening economic cooperation among members and creating a new platform for global growth that, according to him, would be less dependent on Western economic structures and rules. According to official statistics, the volume of trade in goods among BRICS member countries is expected to reach about 117 trillion dollars in 2024, a figure close to 12 trillion dollars, indicating a significant increase in economic exchanges within this group. Putin also emphasized expanding cooperation in areas of technology, infrastructure, investment, and payment systems and considered the creation of joint financial and investment mechanisms as ways to strengthen the economic independence of BRICS members.
