Putin will not meet with Trump
The Financial Times wrote that a few days after the initial agreement between Trump and Putin to meet in the capital of Hungary to discuss ending the Russian war in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry sent an official note to Washington emphasizing the same previous demands of Moscow.
These demands include the ceding of parts of Ukrainian territory, a significant reduction in the country’s military capabilities, and guarantees that Kyiv will not join NATO.
Demands that Vladimir Putin refers to as the roots of the war.
According to this report, after a phone call between Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, and Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, Washington decided to cancel the meeting.
According to informed sources of the Financial Times, Rubio informed Donald Trump after this call that Moscow is not showing any willingness to negotiate.
