Qatar has no role in mediating between Iran and the US

The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Doha is not participating in efforts related to mediation between Tehran and Washington, focusing instead on its internal security.

Majid Ansari said at a press conference in Doha that our focus is on ending attacks against our country and defending our land.

In recent years, especially before the start of the recent war, Qatar was considered one of the main mediators between Tehran and Washington.

In response to a question about the future of Qatar’s relations with Iran after the recent attacks, Ansari said yes, we cannot change geography.

He also emphasized that Doha is in close contact with the United States and is seeking a diplomatic solution to reduce tensions. According to him, Qatar is cooperating with Washington to reduce tensions, exit the crisis, and stop the attacks.

Currently, countries like Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey are trying to mediate between Iran and the US and end the conflicts.
