Qatari Delegation Visits Tehran to Ease Iran-U.S. Tensions

A Qatari delegation went to Tehran to reduce disputes between Iran and the US

International and Iranian media reported on the visit of a Qatari negotiating delegation to Tehran with the aim of helping advance negotiations between Iran and the US

Agence France-Presse, citing an informed diplomat, reported that this delegation headed to Tehran after consulting with the United States to meet with Iranian officials and work on reducing the remaining disputes between the two sides

The ISNA news agency also confirmed the arrival of this delegation in Tehran and wrote that its members arrived in Iran at noon on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments

In recent weeks, Qatar, alongside Pakistan, has played a more active role in mediating between Tehran and Washington. Pakistan remains the main mediator in the negotiations, but Doha is also trying to pave the way for reaching an initial understanding between the two countries

The Qatari delegation’s visit took place amid new challenges in the negotiations following the crash of a US military helicopter in the region and increased verbal tensions between Tehran and Washington
