Qatari reporter: We don’t want a defensive coach like Queiroz
A reporter and producer from Al Kass network in Qatar expressed surprise at the Qatari Football Federation’s move to negotiate with Carlos Queiroz, saying we want coaches whose teams play beautifully, not defensively like Queiroz’s style.
After Qatar’s poor results in the 2022 World Cup and elimination in the group stage, the Qatar Football Federation decided to change its coaching staff. Felix Sanchez, the Spanish head coach, left the team after about 5 years in Qatar, during which he won the 2019 Asian Cup. On Friday, Al Kass network claimed that the Qatar Federation has approached Carlos Queiroz, the head coach of Iran, and intends to sign a contract with him.
According to the network’s announcement, Queiroz has even reached preliminary agreements with Qatar and will likely take charge of the Maroons after the Gulf Cup. Meanwhile, the Iranian Football Federation has not yet reacted to this news.
