The Qom Municipality attacked Alireza Faghani
Media in Iran have published images of banners featuring Alireza Faghani, on which it is written ‘Congratulations on your traitorous medal,’ and Faghani’s medal has been replaced with an image of a potato.
These banners, which are installed in the streets of Qom with the logo of the City Council and Municipality, show a snippet of Alireza Faghani’s souvenir photo with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, after the Club World Cup final, and depict a similar pose.
Alireza Faghani has been attacked by government-affiliated media after the final match of the Club World Cup for taking a souvenir photo with Donald Trump, the President of the United States. They have similarly labeled this international Iranian referee as unpatriotic and a traitor.
