Quality: The Missing Link in the Country’s Automotive Industry
The Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has recently published a report addressing the state of the automotive industry and the reasons for the low quality of domestic cars in Iran.
In this report, titled ‘Quality: The Missing Link in the Country’s Automotive Industry,’ the largest share of the low quality of domestic cars is attributed to car parts, which account for 63% of the problems.
Assembly and design rank next with 26% and 11%, respectively.
The report states that the current quality of Iranian-made cars is such that the number of technical issues encountered by customers in the first three months of use is 3 technical faults per car, more than three times the global average. Body and cabin issues, at 31%, are the most common reasons for post-sale visits.
The Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also addresses customer satisfaction with durability quality in its report, citing an 18-month survey in which customer satisfaction has decreased by approximately 95%.
