Quick reaction of three European countries to 60% enrichment in Fordow and Natanz
The United Kingdom, Germany, and France quickly released a statement in response to the announcement of resuming 60% enrichment at Iran’s nuclear facilities, which differs somewhat from their previous statements.
This statement was issued by the three European countries following the official confirmation of enrichment by the International Atomic Energy Agency, and it explicitly warned Iran that this new development, as a reaction to the recent resolution passed by the Board of Governors, is unacceptable.
Beyond that, an interesting warning to Iran from these countries concerns the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, or NPT. This warning is deliberate and carries consequences.
The Iranian regime sometimes forgets that such reactions violate specific commitments it has previously made.
