Raisi in Meeting with Bashar Assad: Others Have Been Convinced of Iran's View on Syria

Raisi, in a meeting with Bashar Assad, said others have been convinced of Iran’s perspective on Syria.

Ebrahim Raisi, in a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad, defended Iran’s stance in the Syrian civil war and stated that those who were doubtful about Iran’s position, political standing, and views on Syria have been convinced that this stance is rightful and just.

Bashar Assad also said it has been proven that the shared perspective of Damascus and Tehran is based on solid and correct foundations of values, principles, beliefs, and most importantly, the interests of the people, national sovereignty, and independence.

He referred to Syria’s historical support for Iran during the eight-year war with Iraq and said Tehran, similarly, did not hesitate to support Damascus during the outbreak of the Syrian civil war.
