Raising seven billion euros for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria
The international community has raised seven billion euros in aid for the reconstruction of earthquake-affected areas in Turkey and Syria. Germany has doubled its contribution to 240 million euros. The European Union has stated that it will allocate one billion euros for humanitarian aid in Turkey and 108 million euros for reconstruction in Syria. Annalena Baerbock, the German Foreign Minister, has doubled Germany’s aid to the affected areas to 240 million euros. Baerbock has stated that those who are still living in tents and need medical assistance should be more seriously supported by Europe.
