Rasoul Khadem’s Reaction to Farzaneh Fasihi’s Championship: A Voice That Should Reach the Taliban-like Decision Makers
Rasoul Khadem, Iran’s wrestling champion, in response to Farzaneh Fasihi’s victory in the Asian Indoor Sprint Championship, wrote: Steps that do not only conquer the finish line but also descend upon incorrect thoughts and the social obstacles resulting from them. Steps whose sound should loudly reach the lawmakers and decision-makers who are fundamentalist and influenced by Taliban-like thinking.
Farzaneh Fasihi, the 60-meter sprint champion of Asia, after winning the Asian Indoor Sprint Championship, dedicated this victory to the people of Iran with her shouts. She did not celebrate with the flag of the Islamic Republic and did not run in the stadium.
During the medal ceremony, Fasihi also went to the podium without the flag. No joy was seen on her face, and she did not sing along with the anthem of the Islamic Republic, but she was clearly crying and shedding tears.
