Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, reacted to the signing of the Mecca defense pact between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, writing

The Saudis should know that a paper agreement with Turkey and Pakistan does not bring them security, just as years of one-sided milking of the Americans did not bring them security

He also addressed Saudi Arabia, adding, ‘Reform your policies so that you do not need to beg for security from others’
