Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization Chief: 11 Provinces in the Country Affected by Floods and Waterlogging

The head of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization stated that 11 provinces in the country are affected by floods and waterlogging.

The head of the Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization reported that aid has been provided to more than 800 people in the floods and waterlogging affecting 11 provinces in the country.

Babak Mahmoudi, detailing the incidents caused by floods and waterlogging in the country, said that following prior warnings from the Meteorological Organization, the Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization put its rescuers on alert in the announced provinces. Consequently, from the moment the floods and waterlogging occurred, rescue operations began. Preventive and warning measures had also been initiated beforehand.

The head of the Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization stated that the operation to drain water from 142 residential houses has been carried out by Red Crescent rescuers. He also mentioned that 175 people have been provided with emergency shelter, and 21 people have been moved to safe areas.

According to Mahmoudi, 50 operational teams consisting of 157 rescuers and relief workers have provided aid services to those affected by the floods and waterlogging in these 11 provinces. So far, 330 kilograms of nylon, 72 blankets, 19 food packages, and five emergency tents have been distributed among those affected.
