Red Cross Chief: Humanitarian Situation in Rafah is Catastrophic

The Red Cross President says the humanitarian situation in Rafah is disastrous

Francesco Rocca, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, stated that the humanitarian situation in Rafah is disastrous and worsening by the day, and he is deeply concerned about the desperate and escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Earlier, Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, had said that over 20,000 patients with cancer, heart, and blood diseases are in inhumane conditions due to occupation, blockade, and war, awaiting the opening of the Rafah crossing.

While calling on the international community to intervene and save the victims from suffering and death, he emphasized that Israeli attacks on health and medical centers have rendered them ineffective.
