Trump accused Western allies of ingratitude for rejecting the request to escort oil tankers
After countries like Germany, Spain, and Italy rejected the US President’s request to send warships to escort oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, Donald Trump accused some Western allies of ingratitude.
In a speech at the White House, he said many countries are ready to cooperate, but he expressed disappointment with some long-standing allies and added, ‘We have helped them for many years, but they didn’t show much enthusiasm.’
As the US and Israel’s war with Iran enters its third week, the increasing threats to shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz have heightened concerns about rising energy prices and inflation.
