Release of the report by the committee appointed by Raisi: 202 people were killed during the 2022 protests

The task force formed at the instruction of Ebrahim Raisi to investigate the 2022 protests announced in a statement that 202 people were killed in these protests and mentioned that legal cases were filed for 34,000 individuals in connection with the protests.

This statement, released by the task force known as the Special Committee for Investigating the 2022 Unrest on Sunday, March 18, states that during the protests that began after the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran, 202 people lost their lives. However, it does not hold the responsibility for the death of even a single protesting citizen on the agents and security and law enforcement institutions of the government.

In this report, 90 of the deceased are accused of carrying and using cold or hot weapons in terrorist acts, clashes, and attacks on military and law enforcement bases, critical infrastructure, or law enforcement personnel, stating that they were killed for this reason.

This task force appointed by Ebrahim Raisi also states that 112 of the deceased were bystanders who were killed by protesters, whom they referred to as rioters.
