Reports of Iran’s skyrocketing prices: Half a million cost for preparing Haft-Seen items
On the eve of Nowruz, domestic media in Iran report on the rampant increase in the prices of goods, writing that the high cost of items has led people to prioritize buying essential goods and food over new clothes, which has also discouraged sellers.
The Etemad newspaper reported that Ramadan arrived while the prices of goods and consumables for Iftar and Suhoor have multiplied several times compared to the previous Ramadan.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, March 13th, Rasoul Shajri, the head of the Tehran Shoemakers Union, announced a 25% decrease in demand and a 30% increase in prices in the Tehran market for Eid shoes.
These reports are being published as a day earlier, the Tehran City Council announced that the entrance fare for Tehran’s metro will increase by 16%, the rapid bus by 21%, and the regular bus by 30% compared to the year 1402.
