Republican Representative Warns Selling Nvidia Chips to China Is Like Giving Enriched Uranium to Iran
A prominent Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives has warned that selling Nvidia’s best chips to China is like giving enriched uranium with weapons-grade purity to Iran.
John Molnar, Chairman of the House China Affairs Committee, stated in a post on the social media platform X, addressing the Trump administration, that we cannot provide our country’s main adversary with the most advanced artificial intelligence chips.
Mr. Molnar issued this warning on Wednesday, while President Donald Trump, after today’s meeting with Xi Jinping in South Korea, said that Beijing officials will talk with Nvidia’s CEO and the U.S. government will be present in these negotiations like a kind of referee.
At the same time, Mr. Trump, in response to a reporter’s question, said that the sale of the Blackwell chip, considered Nvidia’s best chip, will not be discussed in these negotiations.
He did not provide further details about the nature of these talks but said there are many chips available for sale, and this is good for us.
