Results of a Survey 20 Years After the US Invasion of Iraq: Most Iraqis Believe the Country Was Better During Saddam's Time

Results of a survey 20 years after the US invasion of Iraq show that most Iraqis believe the situation was better under Saddam.

According to a new survey, most people in Iraq say that the situation in the country has worsened since the US-led invasion in 2003.

This comes as the 20th anniversary of the overthrow of President Saddam Hussein in this oil-rich Middle Eastern country arrives.

The international Gallup organization, a global non-profit polling agency, conducted this face-to-face survey across all 18 provinces of Iraq, sampling a population of 2,024 adults in February 2023.

When asked about the current situation in Iraq compared to before the US invasion, 60 percent of respondents said the situation has worsened, while 40 percent said it has improved.
