Reuters Expands Iran's Ballistic Missile Production

Reuters on the Expansion of Iran’s Ballistic Missile Production

The Reuters news agency reported, based on new satellite images, that Iran has significantly expanded the production of ballistic missiles at two of its key missile sites. Two American researchers assessed that these two Iranian military sites have been developed with the aim of increasing ballistic missile production. The assessment by the two American researchers was confirmed by three senior Iranian officials in an interview with Reuters.

In this report, which was published on Monday, July 9, Reuters states that the expansion of Iran’s sites is related to an agreement made in the fall two years ago between Tehran and Moscow for the transfer of missiles to Russia following the Russian army’s war in Ukraine.

Reuters has reviewed images taken by the commercial satellite company Planet Labs of the Modarres military base and the Khajir missile production complex in Iran. Khajir is located southeast of Tehran, close to the town of Pakdasht.
