Reuters: Israel and Lebanese Militants Agree on Ceasefire

Reuters news agency, citing a senior American official, reported that Israel and Lebanese militants have agreed to establish a ceasefire, which will take effect at 4 PM local time on Friday.

The American official, who wished to remain anonymous, told Reuters that Hezbollah and Israel have agreed on a ceasefire.

He added that American and Qatari negotiators, with the help of Iran, finalized this agreement.

According to this official, after an exchange of fire between the two sides in the early hours of Friday, the hostilities have now stopped and the ceasefire will be in place.

This agreement comes at a time when tensions in southern Lebanon had increased in recent days, and the reciprocal attacks by Israel and Lebanese militants had heightened concerns about the escalation of the conflict.
