Reuters: Prolonged war with Iran draws the USS George Washington from Japan to the region

Reuters reported that the USS George Washington aircraft carrier was unexpectedly deployed from Japan to the Middle East in August to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, a mission for which no specific end date has been announced yet.

Approximately five thousand people are on this carrier, and a large portion of its crew is aged between 19 and 24. They operate in a state of readiness with the possibility of missile and drone attacks from Iran.

The report reminded that the war, which Trump repeatedly promised to end quickly, continues and has placed increasing pressure on the US Navy and the crew of the carriers.
