Reuters: Russia rejected the proposal for a ceasefire with Ukraine in the Black Sea

Russia rejected the proposal to establish a ceasefire with Ukraine in the Black Sea, stating that under the current circumstances, there is no ground for half-hearted measures that would give Kyiv a reprieve.

Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, accused Ukraine of bold terrorist actions against shipping and said that Moscow views these attacks as part of a deliberate policy to destabilize civilian shipping in the Black Sea, escalate tensions, and prolong the war.

Zakharova also accused regional countries of remaining silent in the face of these actions and said that Russia sees no signs of improvement in the situation.

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry added that under such circumstances, Moscow sees no reason to accept actions that, according to her, would only provide a temporary respite to Ukraine.
