Reuters: Senior Hamas official Samer al-Hajj killed in Israeli airstrike in Lebanon

Reuters news agency reported on the evening of Friday, August 19, citing a source in Hamas and two other security sources in Lebanon, that Samer al-Hajj, a senior Hamas official, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in the Lebanese port city of Sidon.

At the same time, the Telegram channel of the IRGC also confirmed the death of Samer al-Hajj.

Samer al-Hajj was targeted by Israel while inside a vehicle near the Palestinian camp close to Ain al-Hilweh.

According to Reuters’ news sources, the bodyguard of this Hamas official was also seriously injured in the attack.
