Disclosure of the corruption case of Abbas Ali Abadi, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in Raisi’s government
According to Iran Gate, Abbas Ali Abadi received the keys to the Somayeh Street building from the revolutionary parliament last week and became the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in Ebrahim Raisi’s government. He has a history of management in the Mapna industrial group and sees many dark points in his record. Documents regarding Ali Abadi’s corruption have been published on social media, which have not yet faced any reaction from the government.
Abbas Ali Abadi, the second Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in Ebrahim Raisi’s government, received the keys to the Somayeh Street building from Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, while this ministry is facing numerous problems. However, given Ali Abadi’s record, it seems that the controversies surrounding this ministry will not only not decrease but will intensify.
Mr. Ali Abadi, how many years of education do you have?
The most important part of the documents published about Ali Abadi’s corruption relates to his educational degrees. According to information obtained by Iran Gate, Abbas Ali Abadi presented documents to Mapna indicating he obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanics from Sharif University in 1989. Refer to the image below. This is while his entry into this university is recorded as 1979. On the other hand, the issuer of Ali Abadi’s degree at Sharif University is Reza Roosta, who was appointed as the president of Sharif University in 2005, coinciding with the coming to power of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

In other words, according to Ali Abadi’s claim, Reza Roosta issued a degree that was obtained 16 years before his presidency at Sharif University. Based on the evidence available to Iran Gate, it can clearly be said that the new member of Seyed Ebrahim Raisi’s cabinet received his fake educational degrees from Sharif University through unconventional connections after the hardline Ahmadinejad government came to power.
But the story doesn’t end here because his master’s degree in mechanics was also issued in 2011 during the second Ahmadinejad government and by Farhad Rahbar, the then president of Tehran University. This is while, according to the documents presented to Mapna, Ali Abadi graduated with a master’s degree in mechanics from Tehran University in 1995. Refer to the image below.
This means that once again, exactly 16 years after the claimed timeframe, the president of Tehran University issued a degree for which he had no authority. The more interesting point is that this degree was not only not issued on the official letterheads of Tehran University but also lacks the stamp of the university president.

It should be noted that none of the documents mentioned have duplicate stamps, and even if they were real, they do not have legal validity, especially the master’s degree from Tehran University, which was issued on a regular sheet of paper and contrary to norms on the university’s letterhead, and the president’s stamp is not seen on the mentioned document.
Illegal employment at Imam Hossein University
The story becomes more complicated and strange when, even assuming the authenticity of the new Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade’s educational documents, his employment date at Imam Hossein University does not match his claimed graduation dates. In other words, even if we accept that his educational documents were not tampered with or fake, his employment as a faculty member at Imam Hossein University was completely illegal and invalid.
As mentioned, according to documents published on social media and investigations by Iran Gate, it can be said that Abbas Ali Abadi not only has flawed educational documents but his employment as a faculty member in various higher education institutions and universities was also illegal.
Iran Gate’s follow-up on Ali Abadi’s unconventional and illegal employment at Imam Hossein University in the 1980s reveals that in 1986, when Ali Abadi didn’t even have a bachelor’s degree, he was strangely recruited as a faculty member at Imam Hossein University. Refer to the image below. This information was obtained through documents Ali Abadi presented to Mapna, and their authenticity has been proven to Iran Gate.

But the story doesn’t end there. The new Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in Ebrahim Raisi’s government not only has illegal employment in his record but was also appointed as the scientific deputy of Imam Hossein University in 1991. This appointment occurred while he had not yet completed his master’s degree in 1991, and one of the conditions for holding a deputy position at a university is having at least a master’s degree. 600 million salary at Mapna
According to information published by Saba Azarpeyk, a journalist and researcher in the field of economic corruption in Iran, some board members of Mapna reported that Abbas Ali Abadi received a salary of 600 million tomans in 2009 while holding the position of CEO of Mapna.
There is also information that he demanded a salary equivalent to the remuneration of the CEO of Siemens in the Middle East in 2009. In other words, in 2009, when the country was facing complex political and economic problems, Abbas Ali Abadi demanded a 50,000 euro salary from Mapna.
