Revocation of Mohammad Boroujeni’s Death Sentence

Ebrahim Allahbakhshi, a former political prisoner, announced on his Twitter page that Mohammad Boroujeni’s sentence for ‘moharebeh’ has been changed to one year of imprisonment and 74 lashes, and this was communicated to him today.

Mohammad Boroujeni was arrested during the recent nationwide movement and on November 16th, he was charged with ‘moharebeh’ by a court presided over by Judge Salavati for allegedly setting fire to the Pakdasht Governorate and attacking a government official resulting in injury, and he was sentenced to death.

Saeed Dehghan, a legal expert, also confirmed this news on Twitter, citing the breaking of silence, public solidarity with detainees and their families, legal information dissemination, and political sponsorship as reasons for the revocation of Mohammad Boroujeni’s death sentence.

Martin Diedenhofen, a member of the German Parliament, had previously taken on the political sponsorship of Mohammad Boroujeni.
