Rey Power Plant Goes Offline

Following the depletion of diesel reserves and a reduction in the gas quota, the Rey power plant has gone offline.

The head of production and operation at the Rey power plant told ILNA news agency that the diesel quota for this power plant has decreased by 87% compared to last year and no new fuel quota has been delivered, which is why the diesel reserves have been depleted.

He also mentioned that the natural gas quota for this power plant has significantly decreased since November 30th, and on many days, no quota has been allocated to the Rey power plant.

Mohammad Mohammadi stated that even on days when gas was allocated, the amount was so low that it was practically insufficient for electricity generation.

Khabar Online wrote about the Rey power plant, stating that it is a 48-year-old plant with an efficiency below 20%. During the cold seasons, when gas supply faces imbalances and gas is prioritized for power units, old and low-efficiency plants are taken offline.
