Reza Pahlavi in Munich might find a way for elective monarchy instead of hereditary
Reza Pahlavi, one of the most prominent figures opposing the Islamic Republic, says he personally prefers a republic system over a monarchy but perhaps a novel way can be found to elect the position of monarchy instead of inheriting it.
Mr. Pahlavi, who attended the Munich Security Conference alongside Masih Alinejad and Nazanin Boniadi, answered questions from reporters in a press conference.
One of the reporters, referring to the monarchist groups present in Munich, said that Reza Pahlavi’s supporters clearly call him prince and ask him to sit on the throne. This reporter asked if his image as the heir of a non-democratic regime of his father and grandfather, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and Reza Shah Pahlavi, does not undermine his agenda of establishing democracy in Iran.
