Riyadh Drew Closer to Another U.S. Adversary

Riyadh moved closer to another enemy of the United States

Venezuela’s president traveled to Saudi Arabia on Monday, June 5, and his media team announced that the visit was aimed at strengthening diplomatic political alliances and expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

Nicolas Maduro, who arrived in Saudi Arabia after attending the inauguration ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, was welcomed by the officials of the country.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, he is set to hold talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Reuters and the Associated Press described Mr. Maduro’s visit to Saudi Arabia as another step by Riyadh towards getting closer to another enemy of the United States.

According to Reuters, after strengthening ties with China and Russia and improving relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria recently, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to form new alliances on a global level by inviting Nicolas Maduro.
