Robert Malley: We have sanctioned the leaders suppressing Kurdistan

The U.S. Special Envoy for Iran has sanctioned key leaders involved in the increasing suppression in Iranian Kurdistan.

Alireza Moradi, the police commander of Sanandaj, Hassan Asgari, the city’s governor, and Mohammad Taghi Osanloo, the commander of the Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Northwest Base, are three individuals who, according to Robert Malley, have recently been sanctioned by the U.S.

The human rights organization Hengaw has reported that at least 42 people have been killed following the bloody crackdown in Kurdish cities from November 15 to November 21 during the nationwide protests after the death of Mahsa Amini.
