Roya Zakeri, a girl from Tabriz, was transferred to a psychiatric hospital.

According to reports from Iran, a young protesting woman who was arrested on October 15 in Tabriz has been transferred to Razi Psychiatric Hospital and is not allowed to have visitors.

Previously, the East Azerbaijan police had also announced that this young woman has a history of mental illness.

The Hengaw Human Rights Network and several political activists on social media have identified this girl as Roya Zakeri. According to this network, Roya Zakeri is a 31-year-old from Marand and a graduate with a master’s degree in computer science.

On October 15, a video of Roya Zakeri from Tabriz was released, showing her sitting on the ground with her scarf on her shoulders, shouting in Turkish, ‘I have no security, death to Khamenei, death to the dictator.’

It was said that this incident occurred following a warning and confrontation with officers over the hijab.

The news of this young woman’s transfer to a psychiatric hospital has caused widespread concern.
