Rubio: Iran can only import 3.67% enriched uranium
Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said in a conversation on the Honestly podcast hosted by Bari Weiss that if the Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing a peaceful nuclear program, it can only import enriched uranium and will not be allowed to enrich it.
Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s envoy to the Middle East, who leads the U.S. delegation in negotiations with the Islamic Republic, previously stated in an interview with Fox News that the Islamic Republic of Iran only needs 3.67% enriched uranium for a peaceful nuclear program.
Meanwhile, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Islamic Republic of Iran is currently enriching uranium to 60% purity and possesses enriched uranium sufficient for the production of six nuclear weapons.
