Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will allow UN inspectors to visit the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Ukraine

The Kremlin announced this news following a phone call between Mr. Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron

Previously, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts near this power plant during a visit to Ukraine and a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

Mr. Guterres told BBC that military activities around this power plant must stop and urged Moscow to allow the organization’s inspectors to visit the plant
