Russia endangered global food security
After the heavy blow Russia dealt to global grain markets and world food security by starting its aggression against Ukraine and cutting off the grain export route to the world, now Putin has increased the serious threat to the food security of less developed countries again by canceling the grain export agreement that the United Nations had mediated.
The price of wheat and other grains has risen in recent days. African countries are extremely worried about the near-term outlook for grain imports, and the European Union is trying to create a safe route for the entry of Ukrainian grain into international markets.
These days, Ukraine is sending whatever it can from its grain warehouses to international ports, and this is happening while heavy Russian missile attacks might again reduce this level of export to a minimum and possibly close to zero.
