Russia jeopardized global food security
After the heavy blow Russia dealt to global grain markets and world food security by starting its aggression against Ukraine and cutting off the grain export route to the world, Putin has now increased the serious risk to the food security of less developed countries by canceling the grain export agreement that the United Nations had brokered.
The price of wheat and other grains has risen in recent days. African countries are deeply concerned about the near future of grain imports, and the European Union is striving to establish a secure route for Ukrainian grain to enter international markets.
These days, Ukraine is sending as much as it can from its grain warehouses to international ports, and this is happening while heavy Russian missile attacks might again reduce this export volume to a minimum, or perhaps close to zero.
