Russia issued an ultimatum to Ukraine
A day after Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness to negotiate with all parties involved in the Ukraine war, the Russian Foreign Minister made strong remarks accusing Kyiv and Western countries of trying to destroy Russia, and threatened that Ukraine must surrender to Moscow’s conditions or the Russian military will address the issue.
Ukraine and its Western allies have so far refused to sit at the table for any negotiations with Russia, while the Russian military continues to bomb Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.
Moscow also insists on its intention and demands that Kyiv recognize Russia’s annexation of one-fifth of Ukrainian territory, a request Kyiv rejects. Ukrainian officials have stated that the country will continue to fight against Russia until Moscow agrees to withdraw.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, Sergey Lavrov stated on Monday evening that the enemy is well aware of our proposals for disarming and denazifying the areas under the control of the Ukrainian regime and the threats arising from these areas against Russia’s security, including our new territories.
