Russia seeks to extend the ban on diesel exports following Ukraine’s attacks on refineries
Russia is considering extending the ban on the export of a significant portion of diesel beyond the end of September, an action prompted by ongoing Ukrainian attacks on the country’s refineries and concerns about fuel supply in the domestic market. The current ban on Russian diesel exports is valid until September 30; however, exports to some neighboring countries and partners with intergovernmental agreements have continued. Ukrainian drone attacks in recent months have put pressure on part of Russia’s refining capacity, forcing Moscow to impose restrictions on the export of oil products to control prices and meet domestic needs.
