Russia warns Germany about arresting Putin
The Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council said that any attempt to arrest Vladimir Putin abroad based on the International Criminal Court’s warrant would lead to war.
Medvedev added that this scenario will never happen, but let’s imagine it does, and the president of a nuclear country, for example, goes to Germany and gets arrested. What does this mean? It certainly means a declaration of war against Russia.
Medvedev continued by saying that in such a situation, everything we have will be aimed at targeting the Bundestag, the Chancellor’s office, and other places.
His remarks were in response to statements by Germany’s Minister of Justice, who said that if Putin comes to this country, our officials will enforce the International Criminal Court’s warrant.
