Russia Will Target French Forces If Deployed to Ukraine

Russia has warned that if French forces are deployed to Ukraine, they will be targeted.

Russia issued a warning to Paris on Thursday that if its forces are sent to Ukraine, they will become legitimate targets for the Russian military.

French President Emmanuel Macron had previously stated in February that he could not rule out the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine and warned that if Russia succeeds in Ukraine, Europe’s credibility will be lost.

Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that although Mr. Macron has made strategic ambiguities about this issue, the situation seems overly certain to us.

She further emphasized that if French forces are seen in conflict zones, they will inevitably become targets for Russian armed forces.
