Russian Foreign Minister: The US Has No Right to Joke About Russia's Red Lines

The Russian Foreign Minister says the U.S. has no right to joke about Russia’s red lines.

On Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Minister warned during an interview about the U.S. sending long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, warned in response to a question from a Russian TV journalist about the possibility of the U.S. sending long-range missiles to Ukraine, saying that Washington should not joke with Russia’s red lines.

According to Reuters, Lavrov added that Washington is losing its understanding of mutual deterrence, which has been the foundation of the security balance between Moscow and Washington since the start of the Cold War, and this is dangerous.

Lavrov’s remarks were in response to reports about the U.S. and Ukraine nearing an agreement to send U.S.-made long-range cruise missiles to Kyiv.
