The Russian Foreign Minister says Western countries are inciting the people of Georgia
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, accused Western countries of inciting widespread protests in Georgia
The Georgian government was forced to back down from a law that the people demanded to be repealed following widespread public protests in the city of Tbilisi
Mr. Lavrov compared the past three days of protests in front of the Georgian parliament to the Maidan protests in Kyiv, which led to the overthrow of the Moscow-backed government in Ukraine in 2014
He told Russian state television that these protests are organized from abroad to create a provocative factor at Russia’s borders
The Russian Foreign Minister did not provide any evidence to support his claim
