The people of Russia are heading to the polls today for the country’s presidential election, which Vladimir Putin is certain to win.
Mr. Putin will be president of Russia for another six years with a victory in this election.
Voting is taking place across eleven time zones and will continue until Sunday.
These regions include territories occupied or controlled by Russia in Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia.
Mr. Putin faces little opposition as only three uncritical candidates are allowed to participate in the election, while his opponents and rivals are either dead, imprisoned, or in exile.
