Russian Pilot Fires at British Fighter Jet Over the Black Sea

The BBC reported that a Russian fighter jet pilot fired a missile at a British aircraft over the Black Sea last year.

According to the report, he fired two missiles at the British plane because he believed he had been given permission to shoot.

One of the missiles did not come close to the target, but the second missile passed near the wing of the plane.

This incident occurred over the Black Sea, and at the time, Russia stated that the cause of the firing was a technical malfunction.

U.S. military sources later described the incident as a close and very frightening shot.

The UK Ministry of Defense accepted Russia’s explanation regarding a malfunction in the identification and missile launch system.

According to the BBC reporter, the reason for accepting this explanation was that the Ministry of Defense did not want to reveal details of its intelligence-gathering operations or cause further tension.
