Russian Foreign Minister: US Does Not Have the Right to Joke about Russia's Red Lines

The Russian Foreign Minister says the US has no right to joke about Russia’s red lines.

The Russian Foreign Minister warned on Thursday in interviews about Washington’s sending of long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, in response to a question from a television reporter of his country about the possibility of the US sending long-range missiles to Ukraine, warned that Washington should not joke about Russia’s red lines.

According to Reuters, Lavrov added that Washington is losing its understanding of mutual deterrence, which has been the foundation of the security balance between Moscow and Washington since the beginning of the Cold War, and this is dangerous.

Lavrov’s statements were in response to reports about the nearing agreement between the US and Ukraine to send US-made long-range cruise missiles to Kyiv.
