Sapinto’s Farewell to Esteghlal Due to Club Management Conditions

Ricardo Sapinto, the coach of Esteghlal Tehran’s football team, resigned from his coaching position a week after losing in the Hazfi Cup final against Persepolis, criticizing the team’s management in a message.

This coach, who made headlines several times during his season with the capital’s Blues due to clashes with referees, denied Esteghlal Club’s claim about offering him a proposal and said he decided to part ways due to the diminishing trust with the club’s board.

Mr. Sapinto also mentioned disrespect from some rivals, an eight-month period without salary, suspicious decisions by referees, officials, and the disciplinary committee as challenges he faced during his time in Iran, and said he could no longer ignore them.
